Welcome to my blog. This is a little spot to chronicle my turnings, starting with the addition of my new lathe and studio.

Up and running
well, my website is up and running, and it looks like I may even have some of my work put in a retail outlet/gallery. More on that when it is finalized. This is my latest in the flame series. it is a piece of cherry, hollowed, dyed, and burned with a pyrography pen.
I can't say anything about my "day" job, because I work 48 hour shifts, and that really confuses things. My paid career is as a firefighter/paramedic. I have been doing that for about 15 years.
As for turning, I first turned pens and small items in college, a lot of years ago..., when my dad gave me my first mini-lathe. I had no instruction and caused more damage than anything else, but it lit a fire for me. Over 20 years later, the fire was re-ignited in me, so to speak, and here I am. I love to turn. I enjoy other forms of woodworking as well, but find I get really frustrated when joints don't align perfectly, so I don't do it much. I concentrate on turning.
As for other hobbies, I love music and theater, and spending time with my kids. I have 2 step-kids, 14 and almost 19, and my 2 are 6 and 7.
My goal or focus in woodturning? I haven't really found it yet, and maybe I never will. I enjoy the challenge of turning different types of projects. A natural edge bowl one day, and a pen the next. Hope you like my ramblings. Send me a message. Thanks. Enjoy.
Honey, I am so proud of you! Keep up the good work!
